to get about I had to
take Mrs Cameron down
to the Western District
where she also also became
laid up with the same
complaint: on my return
to Melbourne letters
awaited me saying that
the drought and hot
weather was telling a
tale of grassless paddock
and waterless waterholes
so I had to hurry back.
Altogether my trip
was not a very pleasant
one. We have now
been five months
without rain and
