growing up and are learning
to know the savage better
will not always be so
wooden-headed. Then the im-
mense importance of Spencer
and Gillen's work and of yours for the
early history of mankind
will be more and more
recognised.

I am very glad to
hear of Fison's improved
health. I had a kind
letter from him some little
time ago. I owe letters
both to him and Spencer,
and hope to pay my
debt before long. But I
