Coranderrk
4th August 1898

A.W. Howitt Esq.
Melbourne [Underlined]

Dear Sir,

I have been hoping
day after day that some of the black-
fellows would bring me the little
animal (Turnung) you want so
that I might have had the pleasure
of forwarding it to you. I am
however, sorry to say that I am quite
disappointed as no success as attended
their efforts and I am now afraid
they are not likely to get any.

Might it not be a good thing to try
Mr Bulmer with his blacks at
Lake Tyers, Gippsland.
A.
