I will ask you for as much of your
earth as this, to lie in. But, if
I live to go back to white man's
land, no one shall be able to say
that I took with me the ownership
of so much as a single blade of grass.
The Chief exclaimed "That is the word
I want to hear". This however has
not prevented my being spoken of
as the greatest landowner in Fiji

I must come to a close,
but you may depend upon it, that my
gratitude towards you + other kind
friends, will continue to flow in
never diminishing flood.
Yours most sincerely
Lorimer Fison

P.S. My book is going well here.
Two principal book-sellers have
sold every copy they had. Before it was
published, I asked Mr Skeat to send you a free copy.
