Allan McLean

Born in the Highlands of Scotland, McLean travelled with his parents to Sydney in 1842. His father became manager of Captain MacAlister's sheep runs in Gippsland, before leasing his own station on the Mitchell river. McLean became a stock agent, initially at Maffra, before expanding throughout Gippsland and to Melbourne. He represented Gippsland North in the Legislative Assembly from 1880 to 1901.
