William E Stanbridge

William Stanbridge presented a paper to the Philosophical Institute of Victoria in 1858 about Aboriginal astronomy. This paper was expanded and presented to the Ethnological Society of London in 1861. Stanbridge leased land at Astleys or Tyrells, near Tyrrell Lake in north western Victoria, as well as at Swan Hill and Lage Boga and Wombat, the latter being near the former Loddon Protectorate. It would appear that much of his astrological information came from information supplied by Aboriginal people whilst living at Wombat.
