Presbyterian minister who spent time working in the New England district., NSW. Collected and published 'Gurre Kamilaroi: or Kamilaroi Sayings' in 1856, 'Kamilaroi, Dippil, and Turrubul: Languages Spoken by Australian Aborigines' in 1866 and 'Kamilaroi and Other Australian Languages' in 1875.
