My dear Howitt,
I am very glad that
you will be at home on Friday.
thanks for your kind invitations
but I fear I cannpt come on
Thursday, though it is not yet
quite settled as to an engagement
for that day with a friend here.
nor shall I know until tomorrow
whether I shall be free or not.
However, all being well, I can
make sense of gettting away by
morning train on Friday. Thus
