Summary
Seeking clarification from Baldwin Spencer regarding totems. W.B. Spencer notes that he has looked over a list sent by A.W. Howitt. Howitt notes that names of totems vary considerably in different local areas, and that number of totems is 'practically only limited by the number of plants, animals, stones stars & to make a complete list would be impossible', but he could provide a list of the totems with which Gillen and he came in contact.
