(1) East Normanby River
Cooktown
Sep 8th 1884

My dear Sir
I duly received yours dated
August 18th and forward you
the information that you require
and hope you will find it right.
I have tried to interest my
brother officers in your work and
though I myself fully recognise the
value and importance of your
work and sympathise with you
in your desire for information I
fear they do not look on it in
the same light and cannot
spare the time and trouble it
requires.
I have also spoken to a gentleman
named Coventry who is working
the blacks on the Bloomfield River
