Summary Response to A.W. Howitt's questions. Although, not specifically mentioned, content most probably relates to the Kurnai of Gippsland. Discusses language, social organisation and totems. Refers to the terms Makwarra Eagle and Kilparra Crow and that all animals belonged to one of the grand divisions of Makwarra or Kilparra. Letter also documents how language was changed in order to avoid the use of the names of the dead.
Physical Description Letter, handwritten in ink. Two sheets; two pages. Condition: good, but paper is yellowing; light rust stains near pin-holes top left.
