they were gone + nearly dark. I said that is

Two or three days after I went up a tree for a
possum - I saw a little mouse
- a yakan - ahead - I said [?what?] this - someone
died - after [??] I heard of my mother [?sister?] dying

Saw a mrart at the garden at Jones
- it was looking at us through the palings
- I could see its eye like fire. He
ran away.
