William Craig

Shire clerk in Cardwell, Queensland. Craig occasionall wrote arctles for local newspapers about local Abriginal peopel. In the early 1900s he was approached by some local Aboriginal people for help in preventing children being removed from parents as part of the Stolen Generation. Craig, according to academic Robert Manne, became frustrated with the government and Northern Protector of the Aborigines Dr Walter Roth's trickery and disregard.
